The NHS Estates & Facilities Conference 2022

Following the huge success of the Convenzis NHS Estates Virtual Conference series, the leading, complimentary 1-day webinar for NHS Estates & Facilities professionals in the UK, we are pleased to announce that we are moving to in-person. Over 800 sector professionals have joined us over the last 18 months to listen, learn and engage directly with key policymakers and peers from across the UK.

The NHS backlog maintenance bill has risen to over £9 billion, while the annual bill for running the NHS estate totalled £9.7 billion in 2020, this is according to recently released figures from NHS Digital.

Having said this, the NHS Estate is at the centre of the Government’s plans for transforming the NHS and the largest hospital building plan in a generation was launched in 2019. It plans to deliver a long-term programme of investment in health infrastructure, with an investment of £2.8 billion for six large hospitals to be built by 2025. A further 21 schemes will be delivered between 2025 and 2030.

These plans will be supported by changes made to capital funding in April, NHS England and Improvement set out the changes with the key aim of providing:

  • greater clarity and confidence on the level of capital resources available.
  • support for system working and capital priorities discussions; and
  • enabling faster access to national capital funding for critical safety issues.

As we enter a new year, this conference aims to provide key planning guidance and practical examples of best practices from across the NHS and commercial sector.

NHS is responsible for 5% of emissions in the UK; Estate emissions are a large part of that making up over 1/3 of all public sector energy emissions. We will outline the themes and aims of the NHS sustainability strategy regarding estates. We illustrate how we aim to measure the programs and the performance of the estate based on existing, additional and reusable data sources. Applying lessons learned from NHS estates to international projects: a Canadian case study

Dr Melanie Robinson
Associate
BIM Academy
The construction, renovation and maintenance of complex healthcare facility assets and estates require expert planning and coordination to execute the project seamlessly. Using building information modelling (BIM) processes allows the client to clearly define their information requirements and the project team to provide a comprehensive audit trail and document history, increasing transparency and accountability for the future lifecycle of the asset. The presentation will showcase some of the work BIM Academy have been doing across several NHS Trusts to better define their use of digital information on new construction projects, as well as strategically across their estates, under the framework of the ISO 19650 standards. Melanie will then share details of a case study to demonstrate how this work has informed the application of BIM on a large hospital project in British Columbia, Canada, thereby illustrating the value of international standards.

Convenzis Healthcare Event testimonials

What our clients say about us

It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Really positive event for us and we look forward to working with Convenzis in the future.

My colleague and I presented at the NHS workforce conference 2023, 19 September. The support and guidance we received from the Convenzis team in the run up to our presentation slot was great, well timed and perfectly pitched. The event itself, again was expertly organised. The conference was well Chaired by Sean, who was very engaging. As an audience member as well as a panel member, I would definitely work with the Convenzis team again.

NHS BSA -

Covenzis delivered an excellent meeting like always - a hubbub of activity focused on future developments within NHS pathology laboratories

I worked with Convenzis, primarily Dan, for the first time this year, putting together a bespoke online event for IBM. He has always been so responsive and accommodating. The team always remained professional and helpful – despite the many demands from our side! They were very keen for us to maximise on the investment and revisit those attendees who had not committed to follow ups.
It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Convenzis and I know there will be more opportunities next year. Looking forward to it!
