Course Overview
Whether your aim is to use coaching and mentoring as a structured organisational tool or whether you are seeking to take a more coaching approach to your leadership this Level 7 programme is delivered by experienced senior leaders and executive coaches who bring the training to life with a wealth of real-world case studies and stories.
Accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) the programme is delivered in two modules, each of three days duration.
Module 1: The first 3 days of the programme are designed to lay the foundations of effective and ethical coaching and mentoring practice.
Module 2: Builds on the foundational skills developed in Module 1 extending the learners toolkit in addition to exploring the complexity of coaching and mentoring in organisational settings and at senior levels.
Learning Outcomes
- Raise awareness of the organisational and strategic purposes of coaching and mentoring.
- Explore the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and practices necessary for coaching and mentoring at senior and executive levels.
- Understand the intricacies of delivering coaching and mentoring interventions in complex organisations and at senior levels.
- Consider how to build an effective organisational coaching and mentoring culture.
- Gain insight into the psychology that underpins the taught theories, models, and concepts.
- Consider ethical practice when operating as a coach or mentor.
- Develop their professional practice by carrying our regular coaching and mentoring throughout the taught modules followed by onward observed and supervised coaching and mentoring practice.
- Plan, deliver and review their own coaching and mentoring interventions.
- By able to identify and design onward professional development activities as coach or mentor operating at a senior or executive level.
Pre Course Activity
Delegates will be required to read the pre-course workbook and undertake a few short reflective exercises ahead of the programme commencing. This will take approximately 2-hours.
Inter-module activity
Delegates will be required to undertake at least 1 coaching or mentoring session and reflect upon the ‘business case’ for coaching and / or mentoring in their own operating context.
Post-Programme
Once the taught element of the programme concludes learner support continues through regular tutorials and coaching supervision sessions until such a time as the qualification standard is met and gains accreditation.
Accreditation Process
Learners are required to complete 3 formal submissions to achieve the accreditation.
Learners have 24 months from their date of initial attendance on the taught phase of the programme to complete the assignments and attain the qualification.

Key Programme Information:
- 6 classroom delivery days, delivered across 2 modules.
- 20 hours of coaching or mentoring practice, completed with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 senior or executive-level clients.
- Attendance at a minimum of 3 tutorials, accessed via the Learning Management System (LMS) following registration.
- Completion of 3 written assignments following the classroom delivery.
- 18 months to complete the programme, from the date of registration to successful completion of all assessments.
- Mandatory supervision, with a minimum requirement of 4 hours.
