NHS Remote Consulting Virtual Conference

In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, Convenzis are committed to providing our public services with current policy updates and the sharing of best practice to help improve collaborative working and practical examples of innovation through these testing times.

All our virtual conferences are all split across 2 short but content-packed days, day 1 will focus on the sharing of best practices, national policy insights and innovation,

On day 2 speakers will continue their presentations focusing on the key take always and lessons learned, interactive question and answer sessions throughout will open the debate up and give you the chance to have your say.

In line with current UK-wide advice, all non-essential health and social care delivery must stop. Providers of all community care must consider if remote consultations can allow for services to be provided without any physical interaction.

Convenzis will be hosting a range of complimentary virtual conferences that will offer practical insight and support to our NHS in a time of unprecedented demand and uncertainty.

The NHS Remote Consulting Virtual Conference will provide in-depth information and practical advice from both NHS clinicians currently using remote consulting technology and the commercial thought leaders that are working directly with NHS and international healthcare providers to help support the current COVID-19 outbreak.

A remote consultation is an appointment that takes place between a patient and a clinician over the telephone or using video, as opposed to face-to-face. Using remote consultations can help the coronavirus response by:

  • preventing the transmission of the disease by reducing the need for patients in acute settings
  • allowing clinicians to speak directly to patients who are unable to travel to the hospital
  • allowing clinicians to carry out clinical work from home
  • supporting providers to meet increased demand

Key conference subjects included at NHS Remote Consulting:

  • Preparing and utilizing the workforce for remote consulting: Establishing a project team
  • General practice remote consulting
  • Volunteer management
  • Tele-triage
  • Choosing the right technology
  • Going live with your chosen system
  • + much more

Our NHS Remote Consulting Virtual Conference will also host virtual networking sessions for you to engage directly with conference speakers, peers and solution providers all within a safe and secure format.

Attendance at NHS Remote Consulting will provide delegates with the following benefits:

  • Listen to the latest policy developments and live best practice sharing sessions
  • Input directly to the discussions and panel debate sessions
  • Take part in engaging and collaborative networking sessions with public sector peers from across multiple originations and regions

The NHS aims to avoid up to a third of face-to-face outpatient visits over five years, removing the need for up to 30 million outpatient appointments each year.

14:40

“How and why the NHS patient webinar project was established”

NHS England Long Term Plan in 2019 aims to remove a third of face-to-face hospital outpatient appointments freeing up significant clinical time and allowing outpatient teams to work differently. This case study looked at using digital technology in the form of patient-focused webinars to provide more convenient access to treatment and health information for patients suffering with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). This led to a 44% drop in referrals in to our specialist 1-1 service in their first year of use and freed up time to focus on areas of unmet need.

“An Extraordinary Telehealth Opportunity?”

Dr Malcolm Fisk
Expert Advisior, World Health Organisation, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Computing and Social Research
De Montfort University
Regardless of the forward path of the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth (especially in the form of video-consultations) has been thrust into the spotlight. Arguments based on old studies that found telehealth ‘no better’ on a cost basis than conventional methods of service ‘delivery’, have fallen, with a clatter, onto the floor – in the realisation that people could be better served if telehealth (including video-consultations) were one of their choices. It is certain that new evaluations, taking account of the people perspective, new technologies and what has happened in the wake of COVID-19, will (for some circumstances and specialisms) give different more positive outcomes for telehealth. Now those new evaluations must start. This presentation, drawing on comparative work in the UK, Australia and the US, points to the opportunity that must not be missed.

“The patient outcome data, effects on referral rates and practicality of sharing nationally”

Patient surveys were used before and after the IBS webinar and outcome data showed significant improvements in knowledge and confidence in managing their condition across all ages from 18 to 75 years old. Patients found the webinars easy to use with 93% of patients stating that they would recommend the webinars to a friend. With the 44% drop in referrals our specialist team were able to take on 2 extra cohorts of patients with coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease in remission – unthinkable prior to the webinars. We have de-branded all webinars and made them nationally available and they are being used my multiple CCGs nationally and by NHS UK.

Convenzis Healthcare Event testimonials

What our clients say about us

It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Really positive event for us and we look forward to working with Convenzis in the future.

Catalyst BI -

My colleague and I presented at the NHS workforce conference 2023, 19 September. The support and guidance we received from the Convenzis team in the run up to our presentation slot was great, well timed and perfectly pitched. The event itself, again was expertly organised. The conference was well Chaired by Sean, who was very engaging. As an audience member as well as a panel member, I would definitely work with the Convenzis team again.

NHS BSA -

Covenzis delivered an excellent meeting like always - a hubbub of activity focused on future developments within NHS pathology laboratories

Source LDPath -

Working with Convenzis is a stress-free and a rewarding experience, with fantastic engagement from a highly targeted and relevant audience

I worked with Convenzis, primarily Dan, for the first time this year, putting together a bespoke online event for IBM. He has always been so responsive and accommodating. The team always remained professional and helpful – despite the many demands from our side! They were very keen for us to maximise on the investment and revisit those attendees who had not committed to follow ups.
It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Convenzis and I know there will be more opportunities next year. Looking forward to it!
