Preserving and protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff is critical for NHS organisations as they respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

It is essential that NHS organisations take every effort to support the physical and mental wellbeing of the workforce, to enable staff to stay healthy and protect themselves, colleagues, patients,s and families as we continue to deliver services through this challenging period.

Convenzis are proud to host a series of free to attend virtual conferences that will help healthcare leaders keep up to date on current policy and research, our Virtual NHS Workforce Management Conference will focus on the some of the key challenges currently being faced while Healthcare providers battle with the outbreak of COVID-19

Key topics to include:

  • Leadership training and support
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Staff wellbeing and support
  • Effective planning and reporting
  • Remote Working

Key areas of discussion at the NHS Workforce Management Virtual Conference include:

Enabling and supporting staff to work from home: Employers should enable and support their staff to work from home wherever possible. Enabling home working is one-way employers can reduce the risk of infection to their wider workforce and patients while upholding core functions. Homeworking should also be utilised to support staff from ‘at-risk’ groups to continue working while minimising social contact.

Staff wellbeing and support: Employers have a moral and statutory duty of care to protect employees’ health and safety and provide a safe environment to work. NHS organisations need to be proactive in protecting employees and supporting them to feel safe and secure in their employment.

Fatigue: Employers need to consider the impact that fatigue can have on staff, particularly as changing roles and/or work patterns are implemented in order to support staff to stay safe. Fatigue can lead to additional risks, so organisations should encourage staff to raise any concerns they have with their line managers and consider increased breaks and adjustments to shifts where required

Workforce Digital Support Services: The next decade presents an opportunity to address data governance and cybersecurity concerns, agree on ethical frameworks and develop NHS staff/organisations to implement genomics and digital technologies in the workplace, this session will look closely at some of the systems and digital tools being used to improve both patient and staff satisfaction.

Registration for NHS Workforce Management Virtual Conference is complimentary for all NHS and Healthcare employees; it will provide a safe platform to network and engage with peers from across the UK, our interactive speaker sessions provide informative and engaging content to take away and help improve your departments.

We hope to see you at NHS Workforce Management.

“FTSU in COVID-19”

Like many healthcare organisations, BHNC grappled with several operational challenges with its legacy systems and paper-based processes for managing service delivery and coordinating and collaborating across the Bexley area. This was only exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis and required a rapid solution to see the availability of staff, facilities, and critical inventory such as PPE, and improve slow and inaccurate reporting which was contributing to lagging response times and service outages. Darren will share how BHNC overcomes these challenges by centrally managing the workforce through a command centre, enabling practice managers to effectively distribute staff across sites and recruit staff when there are staff shortages, as improve incident reporting and better collaboration between staff.

Furthermore, this is coupled with impacts and implications of home working, colleagues shielding and teams being reconfigured. How can we make sense of this and relocate ourselves in our teams and work to go forwards with a sense of connection and purpose?
