
AXREM, the UK trade association representing suppliers of diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT, and care equipment to the NHS and independent sector, is proud to announce that Jeevan Gunaratnam will take up the voluntary post of Head of Government Affairs from January 2026.
Jeevan is no stranger to AXREM, having previously served with distinction as both Chair and Vice Chair. His continued commitment to the association and its mission is reflected in this new role, where he will help raise AXREM’s profile within government, advocate for the MedTech sector, and strengthen strategic engagement across regulatory and policy landscapes.
This appointment marks a significant step in AXREM’s long-term strategy to ensure that the voice of suppliers is heard at the highest levels of decision-making.
Jeevan’s deep understanding of the sector, combined with his collaborative leadership style, will be instrumental in advancing AXREM’s priorities, particularly around innovation, sustainability, and inclusive procurement.

In his new role, Jeevan will play a key part in supporting the delivery of AXREM’s strategic priorities ensuring that our voice is heard in the conversations that matter most. He will work to strengthen AXREM’s engagement with government and policymakers, helping to shape and support the implementation of the NHS 10-Year Plan. His leadership will be instrumental in aligning MedTech innovation with national health objectives, driving forward sustainable, inclusive, and digitally enabled healthcare solutions.
Jeevan will begin his tenure in January 2026, working closely with AXREM members, government stakeholders, and allied organisations to champion the future of healthcare technology in the UK.
