Louise Carrington

Louise is the Head of Mental Health Support at Mental Health Matters (MHM). Louise overseas the operational delivery of MHM’s community mental health support services, leading a team of Area Managers and the National Helpline Manager.

Louise has worked in the health and social care sector for over 25 years in both commissioning and operational roles. Louise is a longstanding advocate of placing people who access services at the centre of decisions about their lives and the services they choose to access.

“It has never been more important for the voluntary sector to be clear about the impact it can make in response to the current challenges in health and social care. The challenges of affordability and increasing demands on often overwhelmed mental health and urgent and emergency care systems. There is a role for us to support solutions, to be brave and bold in conversations with decision makers, to support system wide approaches to risk and to amplify the voices of people who access services”.
