Critical Care Conference 2021: Learning from Crisis
May 25th 2021 marked our first NHS ICU virtual conference, we opened the debate on critical care performance and best practices recently following the Covid-19 outbreak, over 150 NHS intensive and critical care staff logged in and shared experiences and discussed strategic improvements with some of the sectors leading professionals
The Covid-19 outbreak has shown many aspects of the health and care system at its best. Health and care workers have responded with outstanding dedication and skill; clinicians and managers have gone above and beyond to rapidly develop new ways of delivering services safely; hospitals have joined forces to offer each other mutual aid and ensure the continued provision of essential services; and in some areas NHS, local government and other local services have worked together like never before to co-ordinate their responses and support communities. The crisis has also undermined public support for the NHS and for care staff. KingsFund
Intensive Care can be a difficult experience for both patients and their families. Fortunately, and as mentioned above by the King’s Fund, the NHS is truly blessed to have such an invaluable asset that is unwavering in the face of crisis, this asset is of course… you! The NHS Workforce,
Adult Critical Care underpins all secondary and specialist adult services. Critical Care incorporates both intensive and high dependency care, stand-alone or combined.
Our upcoming conference will celebrate the staff and innovators that worked tirelessly to fight back against the Covid-19 outbreak.
As we celebrate the critical care workforce, we will also focus on some of the key challenges faced including budget constraints, supply shortages and bed blocking,
Hospitals had to double and, in some cases, triple their stock of intensive care beds during the pandemic to cope with the number of patients, The UK is towards the bottom of the European league table for intensive care beds per head of population. Whilst the UK has 7.3 intensive care beds per 100,000 people, Germany has 33.8 and the USA 34.3. We also have comparatively fewer than France, Italy, Australia and Spain.
Join us as we discuss these current challenges with some sector leaders in an informal and secure environment, NHS critical and intensive care staff are provided will fully be funded and CPD accredited delegate passes for the session, your pass includes:
Live presentation provided by sector-leading peers.

It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Really positive event for us and we look forward to working with Convenzis in the future.
My colleague and I presented at the NHS workforce conference 2023, 19 September. The support and guidance we received from the Convenzis team in the run up to our presentation slot was great, well timed and perfectly pitched. The event itself, again was expertly organised. The conference was well Chaired by Sean, who was very engaging. As an audience member as well as a panel member, I would definitely work with the Convenzis team again.
Covenzis delivered an excellent meeting like always - a hubbub of activity focused on future developments within NHS pathology laboratories
Working with Convenzis is a stress-free and a rewarding experience, with fantastic engagement from a highly targeted and relevant audience
I worked with Convenzis, primarily Dan, for the first time this year, putting together a bespoke online event for IBM. He has always been so responsive and accommodating. The team always remained professional and helpful – despite the many demands from our side! They were very keen for us to maximise on the investment and revisit those attendees who had not committed to follow ups.
It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Convenzis and I know there will be more opportunities next year. Looking forward to it!
