Digital Primary Care Conference 2022

The Convenzis Primary Care Conference series has welcomed over 1500 NHS based primary care leaders, 60 sector-leading guest speakers and 50 innovative and forward-thinking event sponsors. Our switch to virtual, following the Covid outbreak, provided a well-needed platform to discuss rapid tech scale-up challenges and remote consulting best practices. We look forward to continuing this series and providing key policy led updates and innovation.

“There was a real buzz to this event, with the participants exploring ideas with speakers, but more importantly, actively sharing their experiences with each other in the networking sessions.  It was a pleasure to be involved and I look forward to doing it again!”, Primary Care Foundation.

For all the pain, uncertainty, and worry that the recent pandemic has spread, it has also shown us the importance and need for digital technology and innovation. We must now keep our foot on the pedal of innovation and not lose momentum to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both primary care staff and its patients is maximised.

Digital First Primary Care funding is being made available to NHS England regional teams. This will be used to support health systems with implementation and uptake activity in relation to an online consultation and other digital GP contract commitments. This conference aims to provide insights on subject areas including:

  • Using online consultations: best practice and key challenges
  • Long Covid: Research, challenges, and technology-based support
  • (GPAD) general practice appointment data: Improving data quality and uses
  • Redesigning primary care at scale and collaborative working
  • ICS Development: A general practice perspective

Research has begun to better understand the impact of online consultations on general practice, however, evidence to date and case study findings show that where online consultations are implemented as part of a comprehensive primary care service, they increase the experience of care for patients and support general practice in managing time and workloads as well as improving both access and sustainability.

Our upcoming conference aims to showcase the impressive technology already being harnessed across the primary care sector while opening the debate on the pros, cons & challenges of using emerging technology in a primary health setting.
