2nd Virtual NHS Workforce Congress: Supporting Developing and Valuing Staff:

2019 marked the start of our NHS workforce congress series, now with 3 highly successful events under our belt we are very pleased to be continuing the series throughout 2020, but before we look at the details, let’s hear what people are saying about the events;

“A pleasure to work with the Convenzis team once again on another successful conference, with a varied and stimulating lineup of speakers and exhibitors which will help improve productivity in our National Health Service.” Head of Digital Transformation, Public Health England (PHE)

800+: Delegates attended the first 3 events

89: Percent of past delegates rated speakers good/excellent

92: Percent of delegates said they would attend future events

Supporting, developing and valuing the NHS Workforce: 3rd NHS Workforce Congress:

Crippling staff shortages mean NHS employees are routinely being asked to do more with fewer resources as they desperately try to keep our health service afloat.

As well as increasing staff numbers the NHS needs to become a better place to work for NHS staff, we are currently facing a once in a generation workforce challenge, Governing Healthcare bodies and national leaders from across the UK are working closely together and have developed an interactive document that addresses the key Workforce enablers and sets a clear vision on how they would like the NHS workforce for the future to look,

  • Valuing, supporting, developing and investing in NHS staff
  • Improving leadership culture: Creating compassionate, Positive and improvement focused on a national scale to help improve leadership culture nationally
  • Prioritising urgent action on nursing shortages: Acting now to address the nursing shortfall
  • Developing a workforce to deliver 21st-century care: New roles, working initiatives and models of delivery will be implemented to innovate caregiving.
  • Developing a new operating model for the workforce: interoperability and collaborative working will be at the forefront of these new changes

The NHS recently announced that £40m of investment is being made to help reduce NHS staff log in times which has been noted as the main technology frustration facing NHS staff, NHS staff currently have to log in to multiple computer programmes when tending to a patient, with each programme requiring its own login details. Some staff need to log into as many as 15 different systems.

We have identified some key policy updates including the £40m log in time investment that will be discussed at the Septembers event;

International Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020: 2020 has been designated by the World Health Organisation as the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020, we will take time to celebrate our first-class nursing and midwifery departments and discuss how we can better support our nurses and midwives across the UK.

International Recruitment Toolkit: NHS Employers have developed a new toolkit designed to support colleagues involved in leading and delivering international recruitment in the NHS. This toolkit aims to encourage and enable good practices and processes for the recruitment of staff across a wide range of professions. Health providers can use this resource to plan their approach to overseas recruitment activity for the first time or to review the quality and efficiency of their existing practices and processes.

Improving workforce planning and intelligence: NHS Leeds Teaching Hospital developed and implemented an integrated workforce system with the aim of providing one source channel, which, was consistent and robust to support informed management decision-making. The programme had positive results and Leeds is currently working on the next steps and are developing a line manager portal to further improve data flows.

September’s Supporting Developing and Valuing Staff: NHS Workforce Congress will also host a Mental Health & Wellbeing panel debate, this will be an opportunity to get involved in the debate on wellbeing in the NHS workforce and what steps are needed to ensure we are building a happy and healthy workforce for future generations.

Attendance will provide delegates with the following benefits:

  • Listen to the latest policy developments and live best practice sharing sessions
  • Input directly to the discussions and panel debate sessions
  • Take part in engaging and collaborative networking sessions with public sector peers from across multiple originations and regions
  • Gain 6 CPD Points
  • Meet with 5 innovative and strategically chosen commercial providers that are helping to drive innovation within the public sector

For the first time in a very long time: more kids want to become doctors and nurses than famous sports stars! Let’s not disappoint them!

Paul Pieterse
CEO
Prodqutive
As a result of the past few months, our Superheroes played such a vital role in our communities that a recent study of over 2,500 parents of children aged 16 and under, found that Doctors and Nurses top the career list, followed by social media influencers. That is all wonderful but we have much to do before they enter the training system! We need to ensure we make full and better use of our existing resources; fix the leaks in our training pipeline and then, make sure that our health service remains a world class employer where its people, yes the humans behind the PPE, continues to deliver a world-class health service…free at the point of need. The question is how and more to the point, exactly how can ProduQtive help your organisation?

We’re all experiencing a period of increasing uncertainty and change. As a result, more and more teams are moving to remote working – and for some, this is a completely new concept and way of working. For your staff with neurodiverse conditions, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, and Asperger’s – the new way of working can be particularly overwhelming. In this session, Texthelp will highlight some of the everyday communication challenges faced by neurodiverse colleagues, and explore how best to overcome these in their new remote working environment.

Convenzis Healthcare Event testimonials

What our clients say about us

It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Really positive event for us and we look forward to working with Convenzis in the future.

Catalyst BI -

My colleague and I presented at the NHS workforce conference 2023, 19 September. The support and guidance we received from the Convenzis team in the run up to our presentation slot was great, well timed and perfectly pitched. The event itself, again was expertly organised. The conference was well Chaired by Sean, who was very engaging. As an audience member as well as a panel member, I would definitely work with the Convenzis team again.

NHS BSA -

Covenzis delivered an excellent meeting like always - a hubbub of activity focused on future developments within NHS pathology laboratories

Source LDPath -

Working with Convenzis is a stress-free and a rewarding experience, with fantastic engagement from a highly targeted and relevant audience

I worked with Convenzis, primarily Dan, for the first time this year, putting together a bespoke online event for IBM. He has always been so responsive and accommodating. The team always remained professional and helpful – despite the many demands from our side! They were very keen for us to maximise on the investment and revisit those attendees who had not committed to follow ups.
It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Convenzis and I know there will be more opportunities next year. Looking forward to it!
