
AXREM is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Shepherd as Vice Convenor of the AXREM Service & Operations Special Focus Group (SFG). In this role, Brad will support the group’s convenor and collaborate with members from across the AXREM community to share best practice, champion innovation, and advance the effective use of technologies within UK healthcare.
The Service & Operations SFG is one of AXREM’s longeststanding and most active forums. It brings together professionals involved in the installation, maintenance, and technical support of imaging and radiotherapy technologies to promote best practice and drive higher, more consistent service standards across the NHS. The group plays a key role in shaping national guidance, strengthening partnerships with NHS organisations, and delivering impactful outputs, most recently the publication of the Service & Operations Manifesto, which highlights the need for improved consistency, enhanced cyber security, and stronger protection of NHS investment.
Brad Shepherd is a Modality Service Leader with more than twenty years of engineering experience. He leads Northern Europe technical support for Women’s Health, Interventional, Xray and Digital at GE HealthCare, with a focus on cost reduction, lifecycle management, escalation leadership and the development of technical talent. Brad has a strong record of improving service performance, including remote fix rates, first call resolution and driving process improvements while supporting important customers and major healthcare providers. His background spans diagnostic imaging, biomedical engineering and RAF electrical engineering, he is recognised for developing team capability, implementing effective service programmes and building strong customer relationships. Brad is a proactive and data driven leader who is committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
