AXREM is delighted to announce the appointment of eight new members to its Future Leaders Council (AFLC), as the Council marks its second-year anniversary.
Established in February 2024, the AXREM Future Leaders Council represents the voice of earlier-career professionals across AXREM member companies. The Council plays a key role in shaping the future of the industry while complementing AXREM’s long-standing Executive Committee. While the Executive Committee draws on the experience of senior leaders, the AFLC brings fresh perspectives, diversity of thought, and innovative ideas from a new generation of rising talent.
Following a recent recruitment process, eight new members have been appointed to join the Council, which now comprises 20 professionals, reflecting a broad cross-section of AXREM’s membership, disciplines, and areas of expertise. The new members join as a number of existing Council members have completed their two-year terms or moved on in their careers.
The AFLC operates on a two-year term structure, providing regular renewal and the opportunity for members to extend their involvement for an additional two years. This approach ensures a continuous influx of new voices to shape AXREM’s strategy, contribute to industry initiatives, and drive innovation.
Over the past five years, AXREM has undergone a significant transformation, and the evolution of the Future Leaders Council marked another important step in engaging members earlier in their careers. This ensures emerging professionals have a meaningful voice, AXREM ensures they understand the value of the association’s work and can actively influence the industry’s future.
AXREM would like to extend its sincere thanks to all departing Future Leaders Council members for their dedication, insight, and commitment. Their contributions have been instrumental in establishing the Council and setting strong foundations for its continued success. AXREM wishes them every success in their future roles and careers.
The Initiative is being led by AXREM Membership Engagement Manger, Melanie Johnson who said "We are thrilled to welcome our newest cohort of Future Leaders Council members. The Council has already achieved fantastic results, driving innovation, sharing fresh perspectives, and shaping the future of our industry. I was delighted that their dedication and hard work were recognised with the Council’s recent award-winning achievement. With this new group of rising stars, we are excited to build on that momentum, ensuring early-career professionals have a real voice in AXREM and can continue contributing meaningfully to the ongoing development and success of our association."
Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer said “"The Future Leaders Council has become a cornerstone of AXREM’s mission to empower and amplify the voices of emerging professionals across our sector. As we celebrate its two-year anniversary, I am immensely proud of the impact the Council has already made bringing fresh perspectives, creativity, and energy to our work. Welcoming eight new members marks an exciting new chapter, ensuring that the Council continues to thrive as a dynamic forum for innovation and collaboration. I would like to thank our departing members for their dedication and vision, which have laid such strong foundations. Together, with our new cohort, we will continue to champion inclusivity, nurture talent, and shape the future of our industry."
Note:
AXREM members supply the majority of diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals. In doing so, our member companies and their employees work side by side with Radiologists, Radiographers, Practitioners, Oncologists and a wide range of healthcare professionals in delivering healthcare to patients using our technologies.
Our members therefore have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables us to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with our ultimate aim of improving patient care.
Although our members operate in a highly competitive commercial environment and in strict conformity with UK laws and regulations, certain issues such as this require focus and resolution on an industry-wide basis.
