AXREM is proud to announce that Chris Taylor, Sustainability Lead UKI at Philips Health Systems and Convenor of the AXREM Sustainability & Social Value Special Focus Group, will be taking on the Richmond London Half Marathon on 13th September to raise vital funds for Dementia UK, AXREM’s Charity of the Year.
The Richmond Half Marathon forms part of the wider Richmond RUNFEST weekend, which also features the Richmond Marathon and Richmond 10K. The Half and Full Marathon events begin within the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, offering runners a rare opportunity to tour the world‑famous gardens before continuing past some of London’s most historic and scenic landmarks, including Ham House, Richmond Palace, Teddington Lock and the picturesque banks of the River Thames. The race culminates in a vibrant finish‑line festival and fitness expo with live music in Old Deer Park, Richmond.
Chris’s participation highlights AXREM’s ongoing commitment to social value and community impact. Speaking about the challenge, Chris said “I’m really proud to be running the Richmond Half Marathon in support of Dementia UK. Dementia affects so many families and the work of Admiral Nurses makes a genuine difference at some of the most challenging moments in people’s lives. As AXREM’s Charity of the Year, it’s a cause that means a great deal to our members and I’m honoured to play a small part in helping raise awareness and vital funds. The route is iconic, the atmosphere will be fantastic and I’m looking forward to representing both Philips and AXREM on the day.”
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that supports families facing the emotional, practical and medical challenges of dementia. Their specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice and compassionate support whether through the charity’s Helpline, its Clinics service or in communities across the country. With an Admiral Nurse by their side, families never have to face dementia alone.
By partnering with Dementia UK throughout 2025, AXREM members aim to raise essential funds and awareness to help ensure more families can access this life‑changing support.
AXREM CEO, Sally Edgington said “Chris’s commitment to taking on the Richmond Half Marathon in support of Dementia UK reflects the very best of what AXREM stands for. His leadership in sustainability and social value already makes a significant impact across our membership and we are incredibly proud to see him extend that dedication to championing our Charity of the Year. Dementia UK provides life‑changing support to families across the country and Chris’s efforts will help ensure even more people can access the specialist care they need. We are fully behind him and wish him every success on race day.”
AXREM encourages members, partners, and the wider health technology community to get behind Chris’s fundraising efforts and help make a meaningful difference for families affected by dementia.
