Developing a strong evidence base is critical for health and social care companies seeking to secure funding and demonstrate value to the NHS. However, navigating research design, methodology, and funding requirements can be complex particularly for SMEs.

Working across medtech, diagnostics, digital health and social care, the RSS connects companies with specialists in study design, statistics, health economics and patient and public involvement, helping to ensure that innovations are backed by robust and credible evidence.

In this session, we will explore how the RSS supports HLS SMEs at different stages of the innovation pathway from early concept development through to successful funding applications. We will also share practical examples of how companies have worked with the RSS to refine their evidence strategy and secure funding.

What you will learn:

  • How to strengthen the evidence behind your innovation before applying for funding.
  • The types of methodological support available (including statistics, health economics and PPIE).
  • Which NIHR and wider funding schemes the RSS can support.
  • How SMEs can access RSS support and when to engage.
  • Real-world case studies demonstrating successful outcomes.

Presenter: Dawn Musgrave, Strategic Lead for Industry, NIHR RSS

We encourage you to come prepared with questions, as the session will include time for open discussion with the RSS team.
