Ortus-iHealth Launches JumpStart Award to Accelerate Cardiology Virtual Wards

Ortus-iHealth has launched the JumpStart Award - a fully funded pilot programme to help NHS teams implement or expand virtual wards in cardiology. With the award open until 31 August 2025, the initiative will support three NHS sites to design and deliver their own cardiology digital pathways, with no procurement required.

The award includes:

  1. 9-month free access to the Ortus-iHealth virtual ward platform
  2. Funded nurse or project manager support (0.5 FTE for 3–6 months)
  3. A full deployment toolkit: SOPs, dashboards, clinical safety case, and plug-and-play business case

JumpStart is designed to eliminate the three most common barriers to adoption — lack of time, team, and funding — and to support NHS teams in making the case for sustainable virtual care models in cardiology.

Proven virtual pathways already supported through the Ortus-iHealth platform include:

  1. Heart Failure Rapid Uptitration
  2. Elective Cardiac Surgery Waiting List Monitoring
  3. CABG, TAVI, NSTEMI pathways
  4. The first UK digital pathway for Mavacamten Titration for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

NHS sites are encouraged to book a 30-minute JumpStart explainer meeting to discuss eligibility and explore what’s possible.

Deadline to apply: 31 August 2025
