Alison Coates

Alison Coates is a senior operations manager at University Hospital Tees, with significant experience in healthcare service improvement, operational delivery and pathway redesign. She has led and supported a range of transformation programmes across acute hospital services, with a particular focus on improving patient access, reducing delays, enhancing administrative efficiency and delivering sustainable improvements in quality and productivity.

Alison’ work has included large-scale improvement initiatives within critical care, peri operative care, surgical, urology and colorectal services, alongside programmes to strengthen operational resilience and improve patient flow across complex healthcare systems.

Passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Alison works in collaboration with clinical and operational teams to develop innovative solutions that improve outcomes for patients while supporting staff and creating a shared purpose for delivery. She is particularly interested in the role of transformation, digital innovation and pathway optimisation in creating more efficient and responsive healthcare services.
