I began my career in NHSScotland in 1982 as a trainee nurse. After a career break for family commitments, I pursued higher education, earning a BSc. (Hons) in Applied Marine Biology in 1993 and an MSc in Environmental Pollution Control Management in 1997. I worked in various roles, including research at Dundee University and as an associate consultant in waste management. In 2000, you returned to nursing, completing a postgraduate diploma in Nursing (Adult) in 2002. You worked in general medical wards and endoscopy, progressing to a Band 6 post. Later, you joined Global Action Plan on a fixed term contract for a sustainability project. I joined NSS in 2011 as a Technical Advisor in decontamination.
