Catherine Boylan

I have been a nurse for almost 40years. My career has mainly been in periop, always with endoscopy as a part of that, starting as a scrub nurse and ending as a senior manager.  I have lead my teams through major change and build projects, including building of several new theatres, expanding services and merge of cardiothoracic centres to one site.  I am passionate about ensuring our workforce are well trained and supported to do their jobs, as this will have the biggest impact on patient care and productivity. Since December 2021, I have been Programme Lead on the National Endoscopy Training Programme which is part of the NHS Scotland Academy. This has been a very rewarding, although sometime challenging role and with the programme developing and diversifying to improve patient outcomes.
