I started working in London in 1984 moving through a succession of transfusion and transplantation posts within the capital before moving to the North of England to manage transfusion at Middlesbrough and then later Leeds and Bradford hospitals. Moved back to Middlesbrough I have been Blood Bank Manager and then overall Haematology Services Manager beifre finishing there as Blood Sciences Manager.

I have recently returned to a transfusion role by joining the NHSBT to help develop transformation projects many of which require interaction across multiple hospitals and/or networks. I work with the NHSE DDCP to try and encourage the development of transfusion systems that meet the changing systems of service provision across NHS organisations.
