Dr Avi Mehra

A medical doctor by background, Dr Avi Mehra is an Associate Partner and Clinical Safety Officer in IBM’s Global Healthcare & Life Sciences practice. He is also the Co-Founder of Doctorpreneurs, one of the world’s largest and pioneering communities for medical innovators and entrepreneurs. A recognized industry thought leader and experienced healthcare technology leader, Avi has expertise at the intersection of clinical, commercial, and technology fields, and he specializes in the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies across health and care. Avi has supported healthcare transformation initiatives across 22 countries, holding global leadership roles, including Clinical Adoption Leader at IBM Watson Health and Clinical Lead for Digital Health at Bupa.

A Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS) and previously the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance, Avi is also a Digital Health Advisor to startups and innovation units and a Guest Lecturer on AI and healthcare technology at leading universities in the UK and internationally. His contributions to healthtech have earned him prestigious accolades, including the UK Asian Tech Pioneer Award for Healthtech (2022) by Diversity UK and the IBM Healthcare Industry Platinum Badge (2023).
