Dr Catherine Glover BSc Hons, MRCGP, GP Partner Hanham Health and Medical Director for HMP Bristol
I qualified in 1999 and trained as a GP. During my first few years as a salaried GP I also worked as a Forensic Medical Examiner for Avon and Somerset Constabulary from 2003-2006. In March 2012 I joined Hanham Health a GP practice in Bristol we deliver GP services to HMP Ashfield, HMP Bristol, HMP Eastwood Park, HMP Erlestoke and HMP Leyhill.
I am the Medical Director at HMP Bristol and clinical lead for the five prisons. I am passionate about equality of healthcare, and this is what initially drew me to prison medicine. Also, I have an interest in substance misuse and in particular the abuse of prescription medications. Also, I do much work locally to try and improve safe prescribing in our prisons while maintaining good therapeutic relationships with the patients.
