Dr Manpreet Pujara

Manpreet is a portfolio GP with a number of roles. He works for NHS Digital as the Clinical Director for Quality and Safety and for his CCG as a senior Clinical Advisor covering medication optimisation and GP IT.

He is keen to maximise the benefits that good information systems can bring to frontline healthcare as well as providing the NHS with business intelligence needed to deliver integrated care improving efficiency and effectiveness as well as helping to reduce variation. He believes that good IT implemented well is key to improving patient care and safety. It also enables better monitoring of health and providing early opportunities for interventions.

He is an advocate of patients having online access to their records so that they are better able to manage their health and care and that to achieve this aim will require a huge cultural shift within the NHS to enable this to happen so that it becomes the norm.
Manpreet is a member of RCGP Health Informatics Group and was the chair until July 2019.
