Dr Miles Payling MD

Dr Miles Payling is Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at C the Signs, a cancer technology company using artificial intelligence and clinical decision support to improve earlier cancer detection.

Miles studied Medicine at Imperial College London. He trained as an NHS hospital doctor, developing a particular clinical interest in oncology, and previously worked as a Clinical Editor at the BMJ.

At C the Signs, Miles leads the clinical and scientific development of the platform, ensuring its algorithms, risk models and clinical pathways are evidence-based, transparent and aligned with national clinical guidance. His work brings together medicine, clinical informatics and technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing to translate complex clinical evidence into practical tools for frontline healthcare professionals.

As Co-Founder, Miles has helped take C the Signs from its clinical origins to deployment across more than 1,500 GP practices, supporting healthcare professionals to identify patients at risk of cancer and navigate them to the most appropriate next step.
