Dr Rachael Pickering

Dr Rachael Pickering has worked in various types of secure environments for more than 15 years. In the UK she locums at HMPs Belmarsh/Isis/Thameside & Wandsworth and co-chairs the BMA’s Forensic and Secure Environments Committee. She’s also medical director of Integritas Healthcare, a small but growing international non-government organisation (INGO) with a HEART for detainees – delivering Healthcare, Expertise, Advocacy, Research & Training for & about detainees. She generally spends around a quarter of her life working overseas. And she enjoys supervising BSc & MSc researchers – including keeping an eye on them whilst they gather data within Western Pacific jails.
