Dr Saritha Arunkumar is a Thought Leader with over 26 years of experience in Cyber Security space, leading and shaping up security across all emerging and cutting-edge technologies. Saritha works as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Healthcare within IBM Technology. In this role, she serves as the strategic technical advisor and bridge between IBM Technology and the NHS (NHS England, Arms Length Bodies, Genomics England, Trusts ), shaping how IBM’s technology portfolio supports the organisation’s digital transformation goals. She focuses on aligning technology with NHS priorities—enhancing operational efficiency, improving workforce experience, and enabling data-driven, secure, and sustainable healthcare solutions and services.
Saritha leads the technical strategy across IBM’s full spectrum of solutions, including hybrid cloud, automation, data, AI, and cybersecurity, ensuring they integrate seamlessly within the NHS enterprise landscape. By balancing an enterprise-wide architectural vision with targeted, practical solutions, she helps the NHS adopt technologies that deliver measurable impact and long-term value. Working closely with senior stakeholders, partners, and IBM’s technical teams, Saritha translates complex challenges into actionable roadmaps, builds trust through technical excellence, and drives innovation that enables the NHS to become more resilient, efficient, and future-ready.
Saritha has a bachelor’s degree in engineering, master’s degree in operations research and a PhD in Mobile Security. Saritha has led large and complex enterprise projects across various sectors and accounts. Saritha Arunkumar is a results-driven professional with a proven track record as a “trusted advisor” for her clients, being at the forefront of identifying and securing new business opportunities in complex environments.
She is a Master Inventor and has won many awards including being one of the Winners of Princess Royal Silver Medal Award for 2023 and Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering 2024.
