Simon Gabe is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Mark's Hospital, part of the North West London NHS Trust, and chairs the nationally commissioned Intestinal Failure service. He was appointed Senior Lecturer at St Mark's and Imperial College in 2000. Dr Gabe has extensive clinical experience in managing complex inflammatory bowel disease, particularly with fistula development, as well as in intestinal failure, clinical nutrition, home parenteral nutrition, and considerations for intestinal transplantation. He co-founded the National Adult Small Intestinal Transplant Forum in collaboration with Addenbrooke's Hospital. Additionally, he is the Caldicott Guardian for North West London Hospitals Trust and was appointed to the UK Council of Caldicott Guardians in 2010. Dr Gabe has been actively involved in BAPEN (British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition), having served as Honorary Treasurer, Executive Officer, Chair of BAPEN regional representatives, and Treasurer of BAPEN Medical.
