Sirazum is a Consultant in Metabolic Medicine based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He serves as the clinical lead for point of care testing at North West London Pathology, servicing for five major London hospitals including St Mary’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
His background as a medical doctor and laboratory clinician gives him a unique insight into the utility of tests, the appropriateness of point of care solutions and an understanding of assay performance. In a large and dispersed organisation he has led a successful award-winning programme to obtain UKAS accreditation for 90 blood gas analysers scaled up to all five sites within a year. He continues to oversee and maintain this service, assuring reliable results and robust clinical governance from over 15 different types of point of care devices.
