Dr Iyer completed his specialist training in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine in Liverpool in 2012 before taking up a consultant post in South Manchester. He now leads one of the largest NHS sleep services in England at Sheffield. He is heavily involved in research and education and is PI in a number of multi-centre Sleep trials.
He is the President of the RSM Sleep Council and also sits on the BTS Sleep SAG and BTS Council. He has a special interest in the cardiovascular consequences of OSA. He is a medicolegal sleep expert for the Courts, Police, CPS, GMC and Ombudsman. He provides consultancy work for several organisations including sports bodies, BBC and British Airways.
