Edward Oforka is an Associate Professor of Medical Education, Leicester Medical School and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Trust (UHDB) in the United Kingdom. He has 35 years' experience in the NHS with nearly 25 years of that as a consultant. Clinically he is interested in health inequalities including differential attainment amongst doctors. He is passionate about progression of healthcare of the future beyond diagnosis and pills, which he believes needs to be introduced early in medical education. He is also an ardent teacher of Emergency Medicine with over 25 years' experience in leadership and Medical Educational at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. He is a member of the Royal a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Member of British Society of Surgery of the Hand, and Member of European Society of Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the Regional Emergency Medicine School Board, member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and other Emergency Medicine Specialist Training Committees at National level.
