Graham Danks has dedicated 48 years to the NHS, starting his journey as a microbiologist and working across key institutions, including Walsall and Dudley Road Hospital. He has since become a transformative leader and a leading voice in Pathology Transformation nationwide.
His most notable achievement is the founding of the Black Country Pathology Service (BCPS). As Group Operational Manager, he successfully merged four Acute laboratories into a single, highly efficient network. This BCPS is now recognised as one of only three thriving pathology networks in the UK and possesses the sector's most mature digital integration.
Driven by the philosophy, “If it’s in the too difficult box then do it,” Graham consistently tackles complex operational hurdles. Currently, he is focused on sharing the BCPS blueprint, actively helping neighbouring networks to enhance their own digital maturity and system efficiency.
