Jane Johnston

Jane is a recognised national leader in health and care data and analytics, currently serving as Co-Chief Executive Officer of AphA (Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts) and working as an independent strategic adviser. She brings over 30 years’ NHS experience, including senior leadership roles across providers, commissioners and Integrated Care Systems.

Jane has led large analytical and business intelligence functions, using data and insight to support strategic decision-making, service improvement, transformation and system integration. Her work focuses on population health improvement, value-based healthcare and the effective use of intelligence to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities, underpinned by strong governance and ethical practice.

Through her role with AphA, Jane plays a key part in advancing the professionalisation of the analytical workforce, working in partnership with NHS England and national organisations to strengthen capability, standards and career development across the sector.

Outside of work, Jane enjoys reading, travel and sailing.
