Jim has been part of the health service since 1985, bringing extensive clinical and managerial experience across primary, secondary, community care, and commissioning. His nursing career focused on hepatology and liver transplantation before he moved into commissioning roles, where he led several large-scale improvement programmes.
Jim played a key role in establishing the community provider in Kirklees as a Community Interest Company and later founded the Leeds GP Confederation. Under his leadership, the Confederation has grown into a highly regarded organisation—holding multiple contracts, achieving a CQC Outstanding rating, and becoming a valued partner within the Leeds Health and Care Partnership.
In addition to his professional roles, Jim has contributed to several national programmes and currently serves as Chair of the Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership.
Jim has over 35 years’ experience in the health service, leading innovation across clinical, community, and commissioning roles. He founded the Leeds GP Confederation, achieving a CQC Outstanding rating, and chairs the Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership.
