Laurence Geller CBE is a committed philanthropist and accomplished businessman who has built and led multinational companies across in hospitality, leisure, healthcare, medical research, and care.
Inspired by the personal loss of his parents to dementia, he has devoted his charitable endeavours to caring for those most affected by dementia preventing other neurodegenerative conditions earlier in life, pledging to donate 75% of his net worth in his lifetime.
Using his deep expertise in the hospitality sector, Laurence set out to revolutionise the quality of end-of-life care, he co-founded Chairman of Loveday & Co, and still serves as Chairman. Loveday brings together private, public, academic, and philanthropic partners to create a world-leading provider of specialist dementia care.
Having attended as a student, Laurence became Chancellor of the University of West London in 2011. Seeing the importance of using his expertise and history to make a real difference, Laurence founded the Geller Institute for Ageing and Memory, the country’s only specialist vocational program in dementia care, which works alongside his other care initiatives to strengthen care services for people living with the condition.
In 2023, he launched the Geller Commission, a research-driven project working with UCL and sector leaders to develop actionable recommendations to improve the provision of dementia care in the UK.
