Lucy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1991 and following a brief time working in primary education, she returned to Birmingham to complete a PhD in Psychology in 1999. Lucy has worked in forensic mental health research for over 20 years, mainly within the NHS medium secure hospital estate, and is a member of the University of Nottingham Forensic Research collaborative. Her research interests include therapeutic interventions for people living with personality disorder; psychopathy; and the long-term outcomes of patients discharged form secure psychiatric care. As a Senior Research Fellow at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Lucy is actively engaged in empirical research, service evaluation and quality improvement projects; she has published widely including several systematic reviews for the Cochrane Collaboration. Lucy is passionate about supporting and developing the research capacity of clinical colleagues in the NHS.
