Marcos Manhaes, is the Head of Patient Safety Incident Reporting at the NHS England & Improvement. In this role, he manages the day to day operations of the NRLS and acts as service manager for the development of the new system -PSIMS. Additionally, Marcos is working towards to complete his PhD at Imperial College on the effectiveness of feedback from reporting systems. Marcos has been a strong advocate for the openness and transparency of patient safety data, as well as better use of data standards and systems interoperability across the NHS and was involved in the development of a clinical digital maturity index at NHS England. Marcos has accumulated many years of working experience in systems development and service management from private international organisations such as IBM, ESSO, public hospitals and national health bodies.
