Maria O’Neil

Qualified as a Nurse 30 years ago and have since devoted my nursing career to looking after patients with cancer and those with life-limiting illness.

Spent over 20 years in a hospice and gained a Diploma and BA(HONS) in Palliative Care. I also wear two career hats, Specialist Palliative Care Nurse and also a Diabetes Nurse and DESMOND Educator.

Having many new palliative patients to care for in prison now, caring for those have been a privilege, and I have been honoured with receiving the Queens Nurse Award.
