I am an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with over 30 years of service in both the UK and Australia. Since qualifying, I worked across a range of mainly Forensic settings in various clinical and leadership roles – until I was appointed to my current role working as the Clinical Lead – Mental Health for Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2006.
I spent 10yrs working in medium and high security settings upon qualifying as well as managing healthcare in a Young Offenders Institute before moving to Australia for 6 years when I managed acute/PICU services – upon returning to London I worked for 12 months as a Patient Safety Manager in a large Forensic Mental Health Service, until I was appointed to my current role.
I was the first senior Mental Health clinician appointed to an Acute Trust in the Country with a remit to improve Mental Health care, experience and safety. I have supported many other Acute Trusts as well as being involved in ICB and NHSE projects/issues.
