EMRAD Network Director
Penny Storr was the Network Director of the East Midlands Imaging Network (EMRAD) for over 11 years before retiring. EMRAD is a pioneering NHS imaging collaboration serving over five million people across the East Midlands. EMRAD is a network of hospital radiology departments across eight NHS Trusts and 14 hospitals that works to deliver timely, efficient, and expert diagnostic imaging services, including x-rays, MRIs, CT scans and shared clinical reporting systems. EMRAD’s shared digital infrastructure enables clinicians across the region to access complete imaging records and collaborate effectively in patient care, improving clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
With extensive experience in health system leadership and programme delivery, Penny is known for her ability to build strong partnerships, drive innovation, and translate strategy into practical outcomes. She has a strong focus on equity of access, workforce capability, and the effective use of technology to support patient-centred care.
Penny brought a collaborative, values driven approach to leadership and was committed to strengthening imaging services through shared expertise, continuous improvement, system-wide collaboration, but always with the patient in mind.
Penny retired from EMRAD in June 2024. Since that time Penny has been undertaking advisory consulting work and is in training to become an accredited trainer for the “Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA)”.
