Prof. Sarah E. Coupland

Prof. Sarah Coupland is a senior academic Histopathologist at the Liverpool University Foundation Hospital Trusts, UK, with expertise in Ophthalmic Pathology, Haematopathology, Molecular and Digital Pathology, and Biobanking.

Prof. Coupland leads the ‘Liverpool-Ocular-Oncology-Research-Group’ (www.loorg.org), a multidisciplinary team, focussing on eye cancers. She is the ‘George Holt Chair of Pathology’ at the University of Liverpool (>2013).

Prof. Coupland is also the current Registrar of RCPath, and the General Secretary of the “Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland” (PathSoc).

She has published ~350 scientific articles, ~150 textbook chapters, and given numerous keynote lectures. She has won several awards for research and teaching and was included in the “Pathologist Power Lists” and in the “Top 100 Influential Women in Ophthalmology”. Prof Coupland was recently awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
