Rachael MacDonald (Senior Research Consultant) has an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York and has an MA (Hons) in Economics from Heriot-Watt University. Since joining YHEC, Rachael has worked on various projects across different disease areas and has led the development of a range of economic models including cost comparison models, cost effectiveness models, and cost of illness models. Rachael’s recent experience includes the early economic analysis of an AI tool to detect lung cancer and the evaluation of video triage in a pre-hospital stroke care pathway. Rachael has also had previous experience working as an intern in the innovation department of a hospital in the USA, primarily focused on developing the business models of digital health innovations.
