Trained as a Cellular Pathology BMS 25 years ago, he has worked across 4 Scottish health boards at various BMS grades. He transferred disciplines to Blood Sciences as a full time Quality manager. Ryan worked as a UKAS Assessment manager for 3 years, assessing ISO 15189 across the UK.
Back to the NHS, where he quality managed additional scientific disciplines (Micro/Virology and Assisted Conception) before joining National Services Scotland (NHS NSS) as the Point of Care Testing (POCT) programme lead, 4.5 years ago.
Ryan’s main aims for the POCT programme are to build a Scottish POCT framework, implement national POCT policy, national connectivity and clinical governance.
