Sarah has an extensive background in mental health, learning disability and autism (MHLDA) services, having worked as a clinician (physiotherapist), service and operational manager, transformation partner and commissioner. Sarah has worked across both the NHS and independent sector and brings together a skill set and experiences that ensure that the patient is at the heart of decision making and the effective delivery of services.
Sarah joined the National Specialised Commissioning Team at NHS England in January 2020, just ahead of the pandemic. As well as being the national lead commissioner for high secure services, her portfolio includes all levels of adult secure services, specialised children and young people’s mental health services, adult eating disorder inpatient services, obsessive compulsive and body dysmorphic disorder, specialised personality disorder services, perinatal inpatient services and Offender Personality Services (jointly provided with HMPPS)
