Sas Banerjee

Sas Banerjee is a consultant colorectal surgeon based in London. He is the Cancer Clinical Lead at his Trust and the National Specialty Adviser, Provider Support for Endoscopy within the Diagnostics Programme, NHSE. He was the London Clinical Director for Endoscopy through the pandemic and helped with the recovery which was led by the Region within England.   

With Royal College of Surgeons of England, he is an Examiner and was the Regional Director for NE London and ISTP Clinical Lead. He is a passionate educator and surgical trainer for all healthcare professionals.  

Achievements include working with stakeholders to create GI Pathways, Transnasal Endoscopy transformation, creation of guidance for biopsies taken during GI Endoscopy.  

Modernising diagnostics to minimise bottlenecks for the right patient at the right place and to enable one stop shop approaches is a mission. At present he is working with Providers to promote the concept and benefits of Digestive Health Directorates and to support Providers with Diagnostic performance.
