Sue Johnson is a diagnostic radiographer and Professional Officer for Clinical Imaging at the Society of Radiographers (SoR), where she is part of the team leading and influencing work that shapes radiographic practice across the UK. She brings extensive experience spanning clinical practice, education, and service management, and is well known for her practical, people‑focused approach.
In her current role, Sue works closely with SoR members, government bodies, regulators and key stakeholder organisations to influence national policy, professional standards and workforce development. She holds a wide‑ranging portfolio, including professional body leadership for the radiographic support and assistive workforce, and plays a central role in interpreting and translating policy into meaningful, workable guidance for the profession.
Sue develops guidance and advice across multiple areas of radiography, supporting services and individuals to improve quality, safety and access to care. Her work is firmly grounded in improving patient outcomes and supporting the workforce to thrive—now and into the future.
A longstanding contributor to the Society of Radiographers, Sue served as President from 2011–2012, reflecting her sustained commitment to professional leadership and advocacy.
