Susan Shelmerdine

Dr. Shelmerdine is a consultant academic pediatric radiologist based at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and honorary associate professor at the GOS UCL Institute for Child Health. She is currently an NIHR post-doctoral advanced fellow with current research interests in the field of AI, with a focus on children’s imaging. She sits on a variety of national and international AI committee panels, grant funding bodies, journal editorial boards and has over 110 peer reviewed publications.

She is passionate about outreach radiology and charity, and a member of the BSPR and ESPR outreach taskforces. She is a regular volunteer for Rad Aid International – a charity that brings radiology knowledge and education to low-resource areas.
