Tom Hadley is the Director of Policy & Professional Services at the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) – the professional body for the UK recruitment industry, representing 3,200 corporate members and over 10,000 individual members of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP).

Specific areas of responsibility include government relations, compliance policy and driving proactive campaigns in areas such as inclusion and social mobility, skills, industrial strategy, the future of jobs and youth employment. An overriding priority for the REC is to ensure that employment issues are at the forefront of Brexit negotiations. With in mind, that the UK jobs market continues to thrive in a post-EU world.

Tom is a regular media commentator on the labour market and employment issues. Tome is also a board member of the World Employment Confederation (Europe). Also, Tom represents the REC on many government advisory forums and committees and works with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in the ‘capacity building’ of business organisations around the world. Previous jobs have included working for the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the European Commission and for the French multi-national Vivendi.

Tom is a former national league rugby player and is an RFU accredited coach. He is a collector of fine wines and a passionate enthusiast of 1980s French popular music.
