All Convenzis Events Provide 8 CPD Points Per Delegate
Delivered in partnership by Convenzis Group and Healthcare Innovation Consortium
Current Landscape and Challenges
Wales has made steady progress in strengthening digital foundations across health and care, supported by a nationally coordinated approach. However, variation in digital maturity remains, and the system faces ongoing pressure to deliver consistency, resilience and value in a challenging financial environment. Workforce engagement, cyber security and long term sustainability are increasingly prominent concerns.
At the same time, Wales is preparing for a major next step, the convergence toward a single national EHR. This ambition requires careful preparation, strong governance and a clear understanding of what has worked and what has not to date. Embedding digital change into everyday care, rather than treating it as a programme, is a key leadership challenge.
Timeliness of the Event
As the final EHR summit of the year, this event provides a timely opportunity for reflection and forward planning. 2026 is a foundational year for setting Wales on a path toward national EHR convergence by 2030. Leaders must balance ambition with realism, ensuring systems are resilient, secure and trusted while continuing to improve patient experience and safety.
This summit is timely because it creates space to consolidate learning from across the year and align stakeholders around the practical steps required to move forward. The focus is on translating experience into action and preparing the system for the next phase of digital maturity.
